Review of the Bike Nook™ by Thane®

The Bike Nook is a bicycle storage stand (and velcro strap for the front wheel) that allows me to store a bicycle in a space-saving vertical position.

It is very easy to assemble, and has an adjustable knob to adjust the top part that makes contact with your bike's seatpost.

WARNING: As with any other vertical bicycle storage system, if you have HYDRAULIC disc brakes, please check with your brakes' manufacturer. Usually they DO NOT RECOMMEND a bicycle being stored upside-down or vertically. Leakage and/or air bubbles may occur; either may negatively affect braking performance and may become a safety issue.

At this point, I would like to clarify that I am not sponsored by Thane IP Limited (the makers of the Bike Nook). I purchased the Bike Nook a couple of years ago because I thought it was a good idea. I don't remember how I found out this existed back in the day, but back in May 2022, it kept popping up in my Facebook ads that month, so I thought I'd mention my experience with it. Anyway, the Bike Nook is still serving me well after all these years for storing my wife's bike in our living room.

Yes, I said living room. I do not store any of my bicycles in the garage where they can be easily stolen. I store my bicycles in the basement. One exception to this rule is my wife's bike, because she can spontaneously decide to go ride around the neighborhood and carrying the bicycle to and from the basement every time would make this a bit annoying.

However, I must mention one limitation in the Bike Nook's design: the seatpost has to be relatively clear of objects for the Bike Nook to work perfectly.

Here is an example: I was able to make the Bike Nook work despite the saddle bag shown here, but barely. I have to slighly lift the bike in its vertical position and slightly move the bottom of the saddle bag away. The arrow points to the top of the bike nook and the saddle bag being right next to each other and barely fitting together.

Other than this minor inconvenience, I am able to use the Bike Nook with my wife's bike, so the Bike Nook worked for me. :-)
